About Men Cry

Because we do. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Welcome to Men Cry — a space dedicated to men’s mental health, emotional well-being, and the importance of speaking openly about how we feel.

For too long, men have been made to believe that crying is a sign of weakness, that showing emotion makes us less of a man, or that we should simply keep our feelings to ourselves. But the truth is, men experience sadness, anxiety, fear, loneliness, heartbreak and overwhelming emotions just like anyone else.

Crying is a natural human response. Regardless of sex, age or background, we all need ways to release the feelings we carry inside. Sometimes, a tear can express what words cannot.

Men Cry was created to help challenge the stigma surrounding men’s emotions and mental health. It’s a place where we can start honest conversations, share experiences, break down barriers and remind one another that it’s okay not to be okay.

This blog is about understanding ourselves, supporting each other and creating a world where men feel safe enough to speak up, reach out and ask for help when they need it.

Because being strong doesn’t mean hiding how you feel. It means having the courage to acknowledge your emotions, face your struggles and recognise when you need support.

Men cry. Men struggle. Men feel. And men deserve to be heard.

This is Men Cry — a place where your feelings matter, your voice counts, and you never have to feel ashamed of being human.

Why I Started Men Cry

I started Men Cry because of a deep sadness and frustration about the lack of care, understanding and support available to people who are struggling with their mental health.

Too often, people suffer in silence. They hide their feelings, put on a brave face and carry on, even when things become overwhelming. Sometimes, those around us don’t realise just how much someone is struggling until it is too late.

This has become especially personal to me following the recent loss of someone I knew who took his own life. It has left me reflecting on the importance of mental health support and how much more needs to be done to help people who are finding life difficult.

I cannot pretend to have all the answers, but I know that we need to do better.

I created Men Cry to give a voice to those who feel unheard, to encourage open and honest conversations, and to challenge the idea that men should hide their emotions or deal with everything alone.

We all need help sometimes. We all deserve to be listened to. And nobody should feel ashamed of asking for support.

My hope is that this blog will help people feel less alone, encourage men to talk about their feelings and remind anyone who is struggling that reaching out is a sign of courage, not weakness.

I want to raise awareness, share thoughts and experiences, and help create a more compassionate understanding of mental health. I know that change takes time and that no one person can do everything, but I believe that every conversation matters and every voice deserves to be heard.

I will continue to speak up for better understanding, greater awareness and the support that people need and deserve. I will do so because I care, because this issue matters, and because I believe we can all play a part in making things better.

But Men Cry is also about remembering that those who support others need care and understanding, too. We cannot be everything to everyone, and we do not have to carry the weight of the world alone.

Men cry. Men struggle. Men need support. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Welcome to Men Cry — a place for honest conversations, greater understanding and the reminder that none of us should have to face our struggles alone.
